From The Studio To The Darkroom Workshop:
Do you have a desire to photograph classic black-and-white film portraiture in a studio setting? This all-encompassing workshop will take you from the studio all the way to the darkroom, while teaching you valuable skills and techniques taught by one of Knoxville's most sought after portrait photographers!
You'll begin with Abigail at Indigo Corner Studio, learning how to correctly load your film, set up your camera, meter for black-and-white film in natural and artificial lighting, posing and working with your subject. You will be taken through all of the steps of a portrait session with Abigail and a model (professional hair and makeup provided by Claudia Nicole Hair and Stunning by Rachel). Learn with her one-on-one in this exclusive workshop opportunity!
After a brief catered lunch, follow Abigail into the Knoxville Community Darkroom as she walks you through the steps to develop your film from the workshop. Learn how to use darkroom chemistry and development techniques to bring your images to life! Watch Abigail in the darkroom as she shows her workflow and teaches you how to make contact sheets, select your best images and make real B&W prints!
Workshop space is limited to 7 people, lunch will be provided. 1 roll of B&W film and darkroom paper will be provided. Hurry, this workshop will fill up fast! Must have an SLR camera able to manually set aperture and shutter. Workshop cost is $175 for Knoxville Community Darkroom & A1 Lab Arts members, $200 for non-members. Abigail Malone is a professional wedding and lifestyle photographer, fine artist, and teacher originally from Seymour, TN.
